In 2019, the costs of hydrocarbon fuels in major energy consuming segments in the US were as follows.
Power production
the cost of natural gas for power production was $33.7 bn;
the cost of natural gas for power production by coal-fired power plants converted to natural gas-fired power plans would have been $30.6 bn, if all coal-fired power plants operating were converted.
Heating
the cost of natural gas for residential, commercial, and industrial heating was $104.8 bn;
the cost of distillate for residential and commercial heating was $16.6 bn.
Highway Vehicles
the cost of gasoline and diesel fuel was $513.3 bn.
Civil Aviation
the cost of jet fuel consumed by airlines was $36.5 bn.
In 2019, the overall cost of natural gas, heating distillate gasoline, diesel fuel, and jet fuel in the US would have been $735.8 bn, if all coal-fired power plants operational in the US were converted to natural gas-fired power plants.
If in 2019 AG-Cycle was implemented at full scale, it would have reduced the aforementioned cost by around $441.6 bn.
If in 2019 natural gas produces and distributors implemented AG-Cycle at full scale for reducing natural gas consumption pertinent to its production and distribution, and imported the saved natural gas, they would have additionally received $6 bn.
